What Ho chums, another momentous event in the history of World brewing has just occurred, I’ve barrelled me beer. Here’s some pics and stuff.
Just in case some of me wee yeasties haven’t quite finished their brouhaha, sugar is added so they can continue to party in the barrel.
Here’s the syphon sucky up thingy that gets the beer from the plastic bucket (technically a fermentation vessel) into the barrel.
Look! There goes precious liquid into the barrel. Huzzah!
Some ‘Finings’ were added. This stuff helps the beer clear. Was going to describe how it’s done but it’s bally techinical, so here’s a link to a clever Johnnie who can explain it beersmith.com
Then it’s on with the pressure cap and it’s off to the wonderiferous Ale House that is the Swan just in time for the Hoppy Halloween Beer Fest ( and pumpkin carving competition)
